KidSport Victoria
"KidSport Greater Victoria is a local non-profit organization whose goal is to ensure that kids from low income families can participate in a season of sport. Funds raised locally are spent locally and are given to assist with registration fees for a "season of sport".
Over the past 10 years we have assisted 660 children into minor hockey at a cost of $133,000.72 and we truly appreciate your organization stepping up to assist us with helping kids get in the game.
The funds raised by the Ryan O'Byrne Hockey Camp will help pay sport registration fees children to enjoy the benefits of participating in a sport of their choice. Those benefits include providing opportunities for kids to learn teamwork, fair play, dedication and commitment. Kids learn how to set goals and work to achieve them, all while having fun as they acquire life-long social and fundamental movement skills. Kids ultimately are healthier, happier and feel an increased sense of self-worth paving the way to a future of potentially giving back to their community.
As of December 2011, KidSport Greater Victoria has assisted 4083 children and has paid for sport registration fees in the amount of $635,596 for children to experience a "season of sport". We simply couldn't invest back into the Greater Victoria community's children without the support such as yours. "
